Movement isn't just a sport—it's a skill that can improve adaptability, efficiency and resilience in demanding environments.
Mumbai Movement Academy has had the privilege of working with multiple regiments of the Indian Army, delivering specialised movement training, designing Parkour training facilities and developing movement-based obstacle training programmes.
Our Journey
What started as an unexpected phone call from an officer of the 25 Gorkha Rifles became one of the most rewarding projects in Mumbai Movement Academy's journey.
Following an extensive proposal process, we were invited to introduce Parkour as a modern movement discipline for military training. The success of the initial programme led to further collaborations with multiple regiments across India.
Ranchi, Jharkhand
Our first Army movement programme, including intensive coaching in Mumbai and a custom-built Parkour training facility at their Ranchi base.
Leh, Ladakh · Pokhran, Rajasthan
Delivered specialised movement training in Leh, Ladakh and later continued training as the regiment moved to Pokhran, Rajasthan.
Ranchi, Jharkhand
Conducted movement and obstacle training alongside neighbouring regiments during our Ranchi programme.
Our Contribution
Rather than simply teaching recreational Parkour, we developed programmes specifically adapted for military applications. Our training focused on:
Efficient movement over natural and urban terrain.
Practical skills for overcoming obstacles in the field.
Functional strength and endurance for operational demands.
Moving efficiently while carrying equipment.
Decision-making under physical stress.
Speed, agility and coordination.
Movement across mountainous terrain.
Beyond Coaching
Our collaboration extended beyond coaching.
We designed and built a dedicated Parkour training facility for the 25 Gorkha Rifles at their Ranchi base, creating an environment where soldiers could continue developing movement skills long after the initial programme.
The project even involved sourcing natural materials locally and constructing obstacles specifically suited to military movement training.
Following the success of the training programme, we were invited to design and choreograph a large-scale demonstration for the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command at Panagarh, West Bengal.

A Lasting Impact
One of the biggest outcomes of this collaboration was the inspiration behind our own Parkour Level System.
The structured assessments, objective skill testing and progression pathways we observed while working with the Indian Army helped shape many of the ideas that later evolved into Mumbai Movement Academy's Level System.
Today, that same philosophy helps hundreds of students progress through Parkour in a structured and measurable way.

We're proud to have worked alongside members of the Indian Army and remain committed to advancing movement education for defence organisations, institutions and tactical professionals.
Whether through specialised coaching, facility design or movement consultation, our goal remains the same: To build stronger, more capable movers.
